  • Convert MEE switch to a slow/off/fast switch - which ground to use?

    Hi All,

I want to control a 330 with a chorale/off/tremolo switch. This Leslie uses grounding to effect chorale/tremolo with the braking effect happening when you switch from tremolo to off, thus obviously I need a three way switch. I have found an old MEE switch in my box of 'never throw away' bits and have tested that I can easily create a three way switch as follows:

It seems to be the case that by simply shifting red and white wires onto the solder tags that in each case are on the opposite side of the bakelite board to their current position, this provides a nice circuit-left/off/circuit-right which can be used to pull chorale or tremolo to ground. See arrows in pic.

My question here though, is 'which ground'?

On the 330 we have pin 4 (yellow) signal/DC ground and equally we have a chassis ground in the organ.

I am sure to some here this is obvious, but unfortunately to me - it is a blind spot. Could someone kindly provide me with a definitive answer?

    Thanks in advance,
    Peter
