  • B3 w/harmonics noise, loud output

Hello - I have a late 50s B3 w/AO-28 that has had some work done on it over the years (and I'm not exactly sure what!), I've been trying to restore it to mostly stock. It does sound very good, has has preamp recapped, but I have two issues:

    1. With no drawbars out, I'm getting a pretty loud constant "harmonic" noise that sounds like all of the tonewheels leaking. It varies with the volume pedal. It appears to have had the tone generator recapped, but where could I trace this back to?
    2. The overall output w/leslie 122 is very hot (almost always have to use "Soft") - I have a tube preamp pedal that I use with the same leslie + keyboard and the B3 is more than 2x louder output.

    Thanks!

Item 2 - you can adjust the preamp drive level http://www.dairiki.org/HammondWiki/H...eampDriveLevel

Item 1 - Check Grounds Start motor end of TWG. Black wire to screw on manuals, matching transformer and preset panel. Check Preset panel screws - tighten. Screws holding filter tray on TWG - tighten. Shields in place on AO28?
