  • Looking for a C3 bench in oak finish.

Have a friend that has got a beautiful 1957 C3 in "limed oak" finish, but the bench is missing.
So we are desperately looking for a bench like the one in the picture below.
Could anyone help us? I understand that this is a rare item, but at least we have to try.
Need to be sent to Europe too, but my friend will of course pay for package, handle, and freight costs.
Please let me know if you have one of these or know where to get one.

Yes, the quatrefoils is important so it matches the organ. Perhaps one can use a quatrefoil bench in a standard finish and refinish it to make it look like what Hammond calls "limed oak".

The bench can certainly be refinished, but the most common bench will be made from walnut. That wood is naturally darker with a different grain look than the oak finish, so it will not be a perfect match.
The oak finish was not all that popular, so you may have to be patient with your search.

You could contact Valhalla (http://www.valhallawoodworking.com/) who may either have one or be able to fabricate one for you.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.
          In reality, there is.

Try M&S organ in Chicago. He's in the old Hammond plant on Diversy Ave. He's got tons of parts and benches.

              good luck

I have a well-worn, heavily-gigged "limed oak" empty C-3 cabinet and bench (no quatrefoils). There are quite a few places where the blonde finish is completely worn off, and guess what .... it's walnut veneer underneath !

I got an email from Valhalla today, and they can make a bench in oak finish, but sadly enough NOT with the quatrefoils.... :-(
