  • Key click?

    L100 to 145.

I have not done any mods but get a very short transient noise at beginning of each note - only through the Leslie, can't hear it in the organ amp / speakers alone.

Sounds more like "Phhtt" than "click" or "thunk". It's not annoying and I kind of like it, but...

    Wonder what this is?

I may be able to post a clip later but grandaughter will be hogging the computer where my DAW resides this weekend, and I'm not really very good with recording digitally yet. Maybe I'll try to get something up next week if that would help but just wondered if I'm hearing keyclick or something else??

I have the organ all sorted, cleaned up and working / sounding great. Going to get started on the Leslie this weekend, general clean-up and prep for deeper work. Have turned vol back down on Leslie to around 6. Sounded great at 8 and still nice at 6 but thought reducing volume till I get the crossover recapped might be a good idea, just to better protect the horn driver?

Will be diggin into the motor stacks for maintenance soon also.

    Any comments on the "Phhtt"?

It sounds like a loose connection being broken by the vibration from the audio. It could be other things but I'd start there. Turn the Leslie volume back up and start wiggling cables. I'd also check all the tubes, especially those in the audio signal path, as the noise could also eminate there. Just lightly tap the tubes to see if you can cause the noise to happen. Best of luck!
Over the years: Hammond M3, BC, M102, B3, four X77s and three PR-40s, a Thomas Electra and a Celebrity, three Fender Rhodes, Roland HS-10, HP-2000, HP-600, RD-600, JV-880, a thing made by Korg (?), two Leslie 910s, 122, 257, 258, 247, two 142s, and three custom-built Leslies. Wow, way too much money spent!
