  • Tone loss - pitch loss on B key on both manuals

    Good afternoon!
I have tone loss and pitch loss on the 3rd B key (21st white key from the left) on both manuals. Every time I play that B key, sound is faint (much less volume than other keys) and out of pitch. That same key on the lower manual has the same result. Any ideas on how to correct this?

    Many thanks!!

What type of organ? Since the loss is on both manuals, the problem usually lies in the TWG terminal strip, filter or pickup. Follow link to TS: http://www.dairiki.org/HammondWiki/MissingTones

As you can see, tones are repeated elsewhere so verify by drawbar using the chart.

Output terminal 36 of TG seems to be the problem, and this is the only terminal that has some type of resistance on it (last pic) can this be the problem?

Technical Service Bulletin 16 added RC filtering to tones 37 to 48 to reduce crosstalk. It appears that this was done your tone 36 as well. I have installed the same mod on one of my consoles that had crosstalk hash on tone 36.

I have had these caps fail over time. You could try bypassing the cap.
I have the TSB - send me a PM with your email add.

One other thing to check is to make sure the tonewheel pickup rod set screw is tight.

Thanks Jim, I found the problem, a wire was broken off the capacitor that was on terminal strip # 36. All my tones are now back up and running! Thanks again!
