  • Brought home a REALLY rare bird yesterday

Those who know me know that I have a soft spot for the older consoles, and especially those locally put together on license in various places here in Europe. So, when I got the oppurtunity to purchase this beauty I jumped on it. It's an AV, in a case built here in Sweden by the then-importer AGA Baltic. Sort of resembles a LaFleur!

Also has a nice history, having been featured in a popular children's show on TV in the 70s (that I loved when I was a kid)

It is 3 inches longer than a normal A, 1 inch shallower, and a bit lower. But BOY is it heavy!! An A is supposed to be the lightest of the consoles but this outweighs my A-100 by far - it's going to stay indoors after the restoration. Note the extreme curvature of the fallboard!

Does not run at the moment, but is complete. Gonna be fun!

Congratulations on this rare find Enor!. The straight sides is unusual, as are those solid, rounded corners. It reminds me of an old radiogram case I picked up some time back - equally solid with rounded corners - and heavy, like kilograms heavy!

Good luck restoring - and remember to let us hear some sounds when you're ready.

That's handsome cabinet work, Enor. Great find ! Does the music box mechanism double as the start motor?
