  • Dirty (plastic) Drawbars

Hi! My name is Peblo, and I am from Spain.
I purchased a T500 and have tried to follow along the Keyboardpartner instructions for some months but seems I am getting nowhere. There is one piece that is freaking me out, and that is the plastic drawbars, they were a bit scratchy at first when I purchased it, so I tried to dissasemble them and give them a good clean. To get the crap and the crud out from the little rods that are in the enclosure I tried sanding them a bit, and the same with the little dots that are in the other metal piece that in theory makes contact w the big variable resistor. It was a really little sanding and I just removed the crap, and made sure I didnt get any material off. It seems to have gotten worse though, and I dont know what to try anymore. I saw this video of a man cleaning the drawbars of a model H Hammond organ that look the same as my T500 ones, and he advised not to use anything abrassive with the contacts, so I dont know if I actually made irreparable damage to them or I could restore them some way.

    Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoQ4KSqYF7I

You may have done irreparable damage. Hard to say without seeing what they look like now.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.
    In reality, there is.
