  • Original vs new felt quality

I ordered, and installed, the up and downstop felts on my `57 B3,and I couldn`t help noticing how much heavier and sturdier the oldies were compared to the new.Similar to the flimsy rubber window and door seals you`ll get if you`re replacing same on a vintage car.I saved them and am wondering if there`s a way to rejuvenate them.I thought of needling, like a piano tech will do to soften a harsh piano tone,or maybe even dry cleaning.Has anyone had any success bringing back the "give" in the old felts?

Did you notice an improvement? The problem with the old felts is that they do get hard. Newer ones should be softer. Did you get them from Trek II?

Yes,the new ones are soft and quiet,I guess I`m nitpicking about them seeming lighter and flimsier.
