  • Expression pedal broken?

Hey all! So I have a Hammond x5 which sounds great, but I believe there is something wrong with the expression pedal attached to the foot pedal board.

I though the pedal should be controlling the volume of the organ, but all it does is give the organ 'a little more air' (or at least as it sounds to me). It's like the pedal controls the clarity of the sound somehow.

So is this normal? Or should the pedal indeed be a volume pedal?

I would love to hear from any x5 (previous) owners! Thanks a lot!

I had several X5's years back, the pedal is a volume (expression) pedal. I can't recall if it used an incandescent lamp in the expression pedal along with a photocell.

If it does use an incandescent lamp, it may be burned out or not getting voltage.

Or, the photocell could be bad.

There are several X5 service manuals on eBay right now.

      Hey Joe, thanks a lot!

Is this simple to fix? I have honestly no experience in fixing parts of a Hammond x5...
