  • How can I get this organ sound?

    Hello!

Total organ noob here. Im working on a song and want to get an organ sound similar to the one in the following song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42xEIsmCSCs (ignore the fact that its from the twlight soundtrack lol)

I have absoulty no idea where to begin. Im using Vintage Organs from NI to get my organ sounds.

Any info would be great...I.E. type of organ, cabinet, mixing tips...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Sounds like some sort of Hammond-ish tone to me, but I'm no expert on Hammond. Perhaps one of our members who plays a Hammond can chime in and suggest a way to get that sound. Or you might try posting in the Hammond organ section if you get no response here.

      Tpaone93,

First, welcome to the Forum! You are definitely looking for a Hammond sound--most likely all fundamental drawbars (probably not including 16') at or near 7 or 8, with some of the fractional drawbars added to flavor. They probably used one of the traditional Hammonds (B3, C3, CV, etc.) and a 145 or 147 Leslie.

For more information, I've transferred this thread to the Hammond Forum where you will probably get more replies.

      Hope this gets you started.

      Michael

P.S. Some keyboards will list the patch as "Jazz Organ" or "Rock Organ," etc.
Way too many organs to list, but I do have 5 Allens:
      • MOS-2 Model 505-B / ADC-4300-DK / ADC-5400 / ADC-6000 (Symphony) / ADC-8000DKC
      • Lowrey Heritage (DSO-1)
      • 11 Pump Organs, 1 Pipe Organ & 7 Pianos
