  • A101 wiring 26-1 Connector to 6w Leslie with ADPT 27-5

Over the past two weeks I acquired a stock A101 from one seller and a Leslie 44w with a Hampton MK1D wired up as a 6w 6pin and 6pin cable from another seller. Then I bought this use 26-1 connector kit which came with a 27-5 adapter.

So I've been reading the old posts and the wiring instructions. My question is do I not touch the 5 pin out from my console and if the wiring is correct on the ADPT 27-5 clip the power wires and wire those up to power on the console preamp (still need to locate that) and then follow the diagram to connect the pin 3 wire to the green speaker wire. Solder pin 5 to that speaker terminal on the amp. And then pin 1 ground - I'm not certain what ground they are referring to in the diagram, but I did wire up a 1/4 direct out to a ground next to the G G.
I've read some people hook up to the G G, but I was going to try it this way.

I'm new to the Hammond/Leslie world, so will this work? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

You need to compare and convert if needed the 27-5 wurli adapter to a 27-9 as per the instructions on the Captains site. After that - follow his directions. The ground is the black wire next to the green on the power amp. If you follow it back to the preamp, it should go to the gnd terminal next to the GG's. On the preamp (hanging upside down) there should be a terminal cover which has a blue, gray and 2 brown wires going in. Connect your power to the blue and gray.

Thanks for your help. I'm starting now. I have a somewhat embarrassing question. Is the connector diagram as if you're looking at the back of the connector where you are wiring or the front of the connector.

I wired it up and didn't start a fire or jolt myself. It works great on the echo and ensemble, but when put on Main - the leslie has a very loud hum. I bought the leslie with the Hamptone kit wired up already. And I bought the 26-1 kit off of eb and the seller had cut the wires to the moon switch and resoldered them and wrapped them up with electric tape.
        So...
        1. Is there something obvious to look for to fix the hum?
        2. How do people wire the moon switch from the back to under the keys? I was just going to wrap it around the side, but is there an obvious hole somewhere?
        3. Any preferences on moon switch placement.

        Thanks again for the help.

The load switch on the Leslie should be set to 16 Ohms.
