  • Percussion & drawbars issues on C3

    Hi folks,
I have a little problem with my C3 and I am confused. :-P:embarrassed:

I fully assembled this organ a year ago and the problem is that I get sound coming from drawbars 5 and 9 (2nd drawbar set "the percussion one").
Looking at the wiring diagram, the yellow, green and white wires from the upper manual go to the pedal resistor panel. And then, 1 yellow, 1 green and 1 white from the perc box also goes to the pedal resistor panel. and to finish, the 2nd green, 2nd yellow and 2nd white from perc box are connected to the drawbars 4,5 and 9.
    What could be the problem?
I un-soldered wires to swap perc box wires around and I noticed that 1 green wire from the perc box is giving constant signal if it touches any drawbar...
    I'm stuck!
Please note that this C3 has no pedal and I don't plan to connect any.

I forgot to say that I get sound from these two drawbars when they are pushed in...

.. and when you flip the percussion selector from 3rd to 2nd, do you get the sound of drawbars 4 and 9 instead?

Sounds to me like a miswired or shorted-out percussion switch assembly. Maybe you've confused the input wires with the output ones?

        Hi Enor,

I managed to fix the problem and it's all working properly when the perc is on or off.
The two green wires were swapped, I had to open the perc box to trace both cables...

Problem solved but now I have another one! Since i did this fixing, I get a ground noise coming out the main output. It sounds like a "sin wave" noise and it's very annoying! X-(

Maybe this box is the cause http://www.drawbarcity.com/swc60.html but it never happened before and this box is installed since day 1..

        Fun times!
