Can anyone with a pre war Hammond post a picture of the nuts or bolts fitted underneath the organ? Neither generator on my BC has them and I’ve heard conflicting information on how it is achieved. I’d like to have at least two per generator.

The threaded part in hte center is a hollow stud that is affixed to the TG.
The slotted screw at the bottom is just to hold that washer in place.
The hex nut is turned clockwise to pull the TG down and clamp it in place.
Turning the nut counter until it hits the washer is the unlocked position.
I have all those components here, let me know if you need any of them, you can have them for cost of postage...I assume that you are in the US.

Hi Bob
Thanks for the picture. It’s interesting to finally see what I am missing! Here are are some from my BC. It’s from 1937 according to the writing on the manual chassis. I don’t have the metal plates and there are no holes for the screws but I think the rest of the assembly would fit. I will send you a PM.
Best

The lockdown nuts I have will not work for you. I have a Model A here that looks like yours.
This is just a simple cup that can either lock down or hold in place and allow movement depending on how it is oriented.
I have an idea that will save you some money and should work just fine.
A series of washers should do the trick; small washers to allow movement and a larger washer to allow clamping.
The smaller washers should be easy to come by; an M7 ID should work, as the screw is 6.35mm in diameter.
Just stack several to allow movement when the screw is tightened.
The larger washer with a small hole is what we refer to as a "fender washer" or simply an "oversize washer". It needs to have an outer diameter that is large enough to overlap the hole in the TG shelf.
To lock the TG down, simply remove the small washers and the large washer will clamp the TG to the wood shelf.
The screw on yours is probably not metric. The screw size for my A is a SAE designated 1/4-20 and probably needs to be 5/8" or possibly 3/4" long.
I assume that you can get SAE fasteners somewhere, possibly order online if unavailable locally.

Thanks for the pictures and detailed information. I’m sure I can find or make something similar. I wonder why they couldn’t keep it that simple on later models.Hammond A100, M102, XB3, XB5, X5, TTR-100
