I'm starting a 710 convert to single channel via the Trek II crossover kit. in looking at the PS and the schematic, It appears that there is a a 2 amp and a 3 amp slo blow fuse in line with each other. It's like that on the 760 as well. Is there a reason to do it that way rather than a single fuse? And if so, what value fuse would you use, the total value of 5 amp (that seems wrong)?
Thanks for any insight.
I’m sure my UK spec ones only have a single fuse (I have four of them in the loft). I’ll check them later. I believe some ie Swedish spec models had extra safety features. Maybe Enor can clarify. Where are you based?
Thanks for the reply.
I'm in the southern USA.
I'm assuming Leslie wouldn't design in any extra parts (cost) even as minimal as fuses unless they had a reason, but I don't know what it would be. As the second fuse is hard to get to and is blown in this particular cabinet I'd rather convert it to a single if it's possible. If not, I intend to mount a fuse holder of some nature to get away from the pigtail fuse currently used.

The 2A fuse is accessible in a fuse holder, while the 3A fuse is the pigtail type soldered to the PC board.
The only explanation I can think of for this arrangement is that Leslie was trying to idiot-proof the 760 against idiots who'll replace a 2A fuse with a 20A fuse if the 2A fuse blows. In normal situations, the 2A fuse would always blow first, but if a larger fuse was installed in place of the 2A fuse, the 3A fuse would then blow.
And there are lots of idiots who do this. I've removed more 20A fuses than I can count from all sorts of gear I have a whole collection of them.
