  • Effect loop L100. What do you recommend?

    Hi!

I've searched a bit in the forum for how and where to install an FX loop in a L-100.

Some say, I mean it was for an L-100, that one can install it from the reverb-box and some say from the white RCA cable that goes to the power amp.

What do you recommend who is more experienced in the area?

    I run the L-100 into a Leslie 760.

    Thank you in advance!

Sorry. It was from the perc amp. Not the reverb.

I usually insert a stomp box off the cable from the perc pre on L100's.
Hung a wah pedal off that location for a recording once.
Eirik Wangberg producing. He is local to you!
I always love to come up with something different.
Yes,Runar,Norway has some very good ears!

        Hi Pete!

Tried it and it work perfect. Is the signal only "hot" after the swellpedal or is it "hot" all the way?

It's the only viable place to tap in unless you want low gain, some remove the vib preamp and add the pedals between. This is pre percussion, however it is low gain.
On an L100 it's possible to remix the percussion post any FX inserted with a passive mixer or A/B switch.
Removing the vib preamp from the chain gives the L100 some instant grunt IMO.One I played had an FX floor board and really rocked through the Leslie!
A wah pedal and chorus/mod and OD pedals. There are many chorus/mod pedals now that will mostly duplicate if not improve the original L100 vibrato IMO.

Would a Ernie Ball 6167 help with the hot signal (high gain??)

See if you can try one out!The lowest volume position on an L100 expression pedal will have more bass than the Ernie Ball.
On L100 the 'doghouse' air cap type expression pedal was replaced with a simple cap and resistance, to mimic the bass rolloff.
Mine is modded. This L101/770 is the most 'prog' in my collection.
Less actual dynamic range than stock with breakup about half way through the travel, just like the M3....
Something to consider is reading the Gietek and Carsten Meyer L100 pages, lots of useful info there to give your L a bit of attitude!
Gain matching is a signal chain test all unto itself.Only by experimentation have I achieved desired results!
I remember the wah pedal being a little noisy . In context of performance or a recording these 'artifacts' lent it a little 'character'.

                I will try it out!
Thought about getting the Lounsberry Tall & Fat to get a little OD, I'm afraid the Organ Grinder might be to much..
Do you recommend any chorus pedal?
