So, a new puppy found me on Saturday. It was an aquaintance of me who sold it, and to be honest I was really mostly interested in the Leslie - a very nice condition 770 - but got the organ for dirt cheap as a package deal I couldn't resist.
The plan is to make this into a bare-bones gig console; discarding everything that I never use to make it as light and simple as possible. So, discarding the harp sustain, the brush/cymbal, all the speakers and possibly the reverb. Taking away most of the perc switches, leaving behind only the same 4 tabs that would be on an M-100 - 2nd, 3rd, short and soft.
Why bother, you ask? Well. I have a tent revival sort of gig this summer; for a week. Last year I brought my BC(3) but the environment was MURDER for it. Very moist air, and every day as I came in to start playing I had to wipe about a half a mm of fine yellow pollen dust off the rig, and it took me a whole day of cleaning to get rid of once I got home. I'd rather use something really cheap (but still full size) in those conditions.
Gonna be fun, this!
