I recently acquired a Porta B L100, and it has some missing tones in the manuals. I've confirmed that there aren't any stuck tonewheels, cleaned the drawbars, and tried the staccato cleaning method to no avail. The previous owner lived right next to a lake, and lots of metal parts are quite rusted, so I'm assuming that the humidity accelerated the decay of the foam in the manuals and ate through resistance wires.
Luckily, I have an L143 that I'm using for parts, so I'm assuming that I can swap in the manuals. Can someone confirm this? The reason I'm concerned is because I have the later model Porta B with more tones for the 16' to lower manual tab, but would this affect the manuals at all?
Thanks.
