I'm planning to recalibrate my T202's TWG using the shunt resistor method as I lack the skills and resources to properly remove the TWG to adjust the rods.

My T is of course quite shrill after removing the key click filters and installing a graphic EQ in the Recovery Amp effects loop to flatten its response curve.

It's also distorting in the upper half of the manuals on registrations such as 888000000, and across the entire manual when pulling out lots of drawbars. I suspect this is due to the upper and lower manual bus preamps being overdriven by the ridiculously hot tone wheel outputs on the higher notes, which allowed the Hammond engineers to subsequently roll-off the high frequencies in the preamps to eliminate key-click and bleed - a sort of pre-emphasis curve such as is used on tape and vinyl records to reduce noise.

So, the objective is to obtain a more console-like generator curve now that the other parts of the signal chain have a roughly flat EQ curve.

On Skill 4 of Carsten's website, at the bottom of the page the shunt resistor method is described:

Carsten advises to use resistors in the range 6.8 to 47 ohms.

By my calculation, this would work fine for tones 61-91, but tones 48-60 require a 150 ohm shunt to reduce the output to the required range.

My calculation is based on the pickups receiving a 27 ohm load from each key press, the shunt value is derived via standard voltage divider formula.

Can anyone advise if this will not harm anything else in the signal chain?
