  • What’s That Glow?

Is this normal? This glow is coming through the brown Bakelite terminal strip on the AO-44 reverb amp on my 1963 A100. I'm guessing there is a tube on the underside of the amp, but why would it pulse with each note depressed when the Reverb pot is completely counterclockwise (off)?

Also noticed somebody snipped a wire on the speaker terminal right above. Yes, the reverb works.

Normal - the reverb amp uses a mini light bulb as a compressor in the driver circuit. The reverb pot is on the output. Appears someone reconnected the speaker wire.

Thanks, Jim! I found a YouTube video with a shot of the underside.

Drive limiter bulb for the reverb amp.

          Light show while you play.

There should be two bulbs. Suspect one of yours is blown.

Why would you say one is blown?
