  • Reviving an European L100PNS

I'm reviving a L100PNS (S= pedal sustain) assembled Belgium (I live in the Netherlands). Nice job & no sweat so far. It's playable but dirty with lots of cracks, pops & static. TG runs smoothly. It has the rocker switches. Not the lower 16' to pedal switch. It has the pedal sustain board wired to the pedals. I encounter two things:

    1. See photo's. The wiring of the AO-42 perf. amp is different form the parts layout schematic found in the manual. The preamp section on the right is wired differently, but I can figure that out. On the left of the board is a large 1000µF 16V el. cap with a (I think Zener) diode in parallel. It takes voltage from the voltage divider R234/R235 that goed to the pedal sustain board. I guess it's the 15V power supply. It's done very clumsily. Maybe the board came stock form the USA and in Antwerp they made this 15V supply??? Am I right and should I leave it in place?

    2. On the bottom part of the organ there is a powercon connection , a jack line out and TWO 6 pin outs. That puzzles me because I guess I have the pre '71 version so I expected two 5 pin PR40 outputs. Or -if it's post '71- a 9 pin and 6 pin Leslie output..... However, I would very much like to rewire it so that I could connect it to my Leslie 145. Any thoughts on that?
Any help would be largely appreciated! In the meantime I start cleaning switches, recapping etc. etc. (I already repaired the non-functional vibrato amp and added Kon's mods)

    Hello,

    I refer to Hammond-2587.pdf

The voltage divider R234/R235 give 28Volt to the percussion trigger circuit.
I suggest to remove the wire going to the sustain board, check 28 Volts and adjust cutt-off for proper working.
The sustain will be another problem.

The wiring of the basement near power supply and Leslie sockets is a mess with a main transformer used as a balanced signal transformer.
I suggest to remove all and rewire to fit your needs.

Pay attention to the condition of the 5UA and of the run capacitor of the motor.

Change the motor run cap, it is probably full of lethal PCB oil and is prone to exploding
