• M3 Percussion question - the lower keyboard seems to have stopped working w/ percussion ...

    Hi,

I could have sworn that my M3 had percussion working on both upper and lower keys. Tonight, no matter what I do with the drawbars and percussion settings, I don't seem to get any percussion sounds from the lower keyword. The upper keyboard seems to be working percussively as I expect.

Can anyone recommend an 'idiot's check' that I could do to tell me if the percussion is working or not on the lower keys? I'll admit that I'm still learning the drawbars and flippers.

What I have done, is turned percussion to 'on', 'fast', full drawbars out on upper and lower keyboards: on the upper manual I can clearly hear the percussion, and changing the 3rd/2nd switch, I can clearly hear a difference. On the lower manual I hear no difference.

I am pretty sure that the lower manual percussion was working last week: I recorded a quick snap on both manuals - tonight, it doesn't seem to be working.

Any thoughts/hints/suggestions would be happily accepted!

    Thanks in advance,

    Malcolm

I can swear that there is no percussion on lower manual in any Hammond!

... then my-bad. That said, I was listening to recordings of I did of all of the 'features' of my M3 when I got it a few weeks ago; and it sure 'sounded' like percussion, ha ha. Albeit it hadn't been oiled in a very long time - tonight I'm wondering if I am hearing a 'key click' (full bars) that I confused with the percussion.

This forum is great - best place to learn about this nice thing 'Hammond' :-)
