Unplug the organ, then turn the power switch on and off. After lifting the amp make sure the filter caps are discharged. I use a mechanics pick to carefully tighten the pins from the bottom side. Nice non-metalic picks are best. Be carefull no to crack the base material of the socket. I would also re-float the solder joints in the area to make sure the "disconnect" is not happening from socket pin movement when the tube is installed. If the filiment pin is jumpered to the 6V6 living next door, the issue could be at that solder joint or also at any grounds.

Don't feel bad, these can be a little tricky to find. I have the same issue with my HR40. One of the reverb tubes shutts off intermittantly. I've made two stabs at it and still does the same thing. (Replace tube, tighten pins, refloat all connections etc.) It is time to expand the search!

And next time don't remove the tubes by jingling them from side to side. Simply pull them out.

Could be loose pin sockets. You might try tightening them. First I would get a schematic and meter out the pins from underneath to make sure you have plate voltage and proper grounding. Make sure you unplug the M3 and use due care to avoid electricution. High voltage in there you know.

    M-3 tube socket bad?

Hi all, I have a question about my M-3's amp. I recently cleaned all the tubes and sockets with contact cleaner, and found that the 6V6 tube all the way to the right was not emitting any internal light. When I swapped the two same-sized 6V6's, I found that the tube that was not emitting light was now and figured that the tube socket was bad. I checked the wiring underneath and could not find any obvious breaks in the wiring and am stumped. I miss my M-3, man!
