• Colonnade - How do I open the top ?

    Hello,

I want to thank everyone for sharing and I great appreciate all your help both directly or by previous post. I was given a Colonnade last night. It has one problem, no sound coming from both manuals or the foot pedals. The drum machine works and so does the aux input. All the fuses are good. The owner stated that it quit working while his wife was in mid song. It is the theater model with the "horseshoe" top. How do i access the upper portion of the organ? I know that on the concorde, the top just flips up. I don't have a service manual for the Colonnade. What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

    Thanks

Look under the hinges at the back if it has them. There may be screws holding the hinges together. If so removing them should allow you to flip up the top I believe.

I found out how to open the top but I didn't find the problem with the organ. I will abort the restoration as i don't have room for the organ.

      thanks,

Glad you got it opened up, sorry to hear you won't be doing the restoration though. If you were closer to me I would love to have that organ, but alas, shipping costs are prohibitive.

I hope you can sell or donate it to someone or some organization that will give it a good home.

LOL! Eight years later I just posted on the exact same issue ..

Curious if this problem was ever diagnosed and fixed?

            Many thanks!

Are you aware all this "nonsense" crap comes up with your posts, kkeys?

I have an Elegante 340212 as well and love it, by the way.

We're flogging a dead horse here, but it's probably not his fault. A forum update or change probably caused this, as you can see it in several old posts of this era. It probably looked just fine to kkeys when he posted it. (Probably.) :)

Yes, it comes up with a lot of old posts. Sometimes they're quite readable, sometimes less so.
