  • Adding a wah-wah pedal to a Hammond

had a Trek II ELB-1 laying around from my X77 project and decided to surprise my buddy by installing it and a wah-wah pedal on his C3. I chose a Behringer HellBabe because, like most wah pedals, it doesn't use a mechanical toe switch to activate it, but rather senses when you put your foot on it. The wah control is optical so there's no pot to become scratchy or wear out. And It has several controls to help fine tune its operation. I knew it would mount to the right of the expression pedal but also that it would have to sit on some type of angled platform in an attempt to match the angle of the organ's pedal. I ended up building an adjustable platform and then mounted the wah pedal to that. There's a 12-volt supply in his organ so we don't need to deal with changing out batteries. It's actually working out pretty well and I'll try to get a few pics of it the next time I visit the club.
