  • "Exercising " my B3

I've temporarily moved and cant get my B3 in the house I'm renting but I can get my 145 inside. The B3 is in the garage w/ a de humidifier and various mouse traps and poisons ready for a hungry vermin. I could put the 145 next to the B3 to play on occasion for exercising purposes. If I start the B3 and play the keys w/ out the 145 ( no sound of course) will that be enough to exercise the console or do I need to hook up the 145?

I could be here for up to 8 months.

    thanks

The organ won't mind sitting unused for 8 months.

You could clip a set of headphones to a "G" and Gnd. The end result isn't that great. On my rig, I have a "Wife's home" switch to cut power on the Leslie's and run a line out to a Vent to a mixer and phones. Awesome.

I tried a different approach. I bought my wife some Bluetooth headphones. She wears them and I play through the Leslie!

I feel your pain. My B3 and "twinned" 21H and 147 are 4500 miles away while we have been in Europe for 18 months. Rather than "exercising" them, I made recordings of me playing the B3, so I can remember the sound. I don't think I'm a narcissist, but this is getting close.

You should go out to the garage every night before bed and talk quietly to your B3. Love and reassurance are far better for B3's than exercising.

I'd wrap a large plastic bag over it (you can get them like this) and put some large desiccant bags inside.

I went for a period of several years without playing my RT-3. However I would start it up and let it run for a while once a month. I also oiled it once a year as normal. I got back into playing just over a year ago it doesn't seem to be any worse off. One big difference though is that it was inside a house with the usual climate controls.
