  • Hammond T-582c few unsolved problems

So I've asked about the pitch suddenly dropping in and out in waves, now I've got a few other things I want to try to solve before I buy any parts. The first is a very loud hum, it's registering as a b on my tuner, it comes on as soon as it powers up, and it goes down with the volume and Silent/Sound switch. The second issue is with a few of the drawbars, they make very scratchy sound when loud, or they just produce no sound at all. The pedal drawbar has to be pulled out all the way and if I just tap it slightly the pitch will cut out and I can hear crackling much like a record player. Any advice would be appreciated, if I can manage to fix this up I would like to upgrade very soon!

On the issue with the drawbars, the situation could be the drawbar contacts. Try spraying with contact cleaner. Others will likely know how to access them.

I think on this particular hammond they advise not to spray with contact cleaner as the plastic will degrade.

        Quote from keyboardpanerner.de:

Avoid spraying the H- or T-Series drawbars with DeoxIt or contact spray, since it deteriorates the plastic material. The drawbar box will literally fall into pieces after a few years if you try this with a miracle spray. The plastic drawbars have to be disassembled and cleaned the "old fashioned way

            You're Welcome!
I'm also working on my T582 the past weeks, so If you have any questions, just contact me.

A nice tip I read at the forum here is to use a rubber/eraser to clean the drawbar contacts. I've done it this week and it cleans like a charm! Just have to clean the 'crumble' afterwards...

Yikes, sorry about the suggestion of spraying the drawbar contacts. I've had the same issue with drawbars on my second generation LSI organ which has plastic drawbars. Contact cleaner has been sprayed onto them several times with no damage for many years. Had no idea that there is a difference in plastic drawbars.

I have a T295-2. I am new to this. How do I access the pedals? I have 2 pedals that have no sound, but I don't see any easy way to access them without removing many parts of the organ. Can someone help me address this problem? calicocat
