  • What size USB flash drive for Hammond Sk1 ?

    Hello all;

    New to the forum. Just got my Sk1. So far very impressed.

    The manual say for backup a 1 or 2 GB USB flash drive is enough.
    Is it? What size do you SK users have?
    Should I get a 4 or 8GB So I have plenty of room?
    Thanks in advance.

    If the manual says 1 or 2 gigs for a backup, then there's no need to go bigger! A backup is a duplicate of the volatile data within the SK1, and that amount can never be larger than what the SK1 can actually hold.

      Thanks Enor,
      I see that the Hammond website has additional 'extra voice' libraries and other setups. Do you know if these are large?
      I might as well buy an 8 or 16GB one; they're so cheap nowadays.
      Thanks again.

        At one time it was suggested to get a 2gig drive. The larger ones tended to have problems and not load correctly.

          Two gigs is more than sufficient.
