  • How is the tiny resistive wire attached to the key contacts

Do anyone know how the tiny resistive wire is attached to the key contacts? It is bonded maybe wedge bonded? How do you repair a wire that has broken off? So far i have just soldered mine.

I believe they are tac welded. I too solder them back on with no problems.

Hammond did wire wrap before wire wrap was cool.

Lots of us use 'chicken solder'. A tight wrap will pierce the covering and make contact, but I'm always seized by a bit trepidation and end up using a dot of solder.

Thank you. I'll stick with the solder then.

          They are fused
          think spot weld
When you solder the wires you need to clean the varnish off with crocus cloth and clean the copper contacts also
Pladium does not solder very well,do the cleaner the better,
          But no acid core solder
