  • Leslie 122a - No sound?

I turned on my B2 after a few months and find that the Leslie 122a is spinning but not making any sound.
If I press the volume pedal all the way down, turn up the Leslie volume, listen closely and I can very faintly hear the organ playing.

This Leslie model has the Styrofoam baffle and the circuit board mounted on the inside wall.

The organ was upgraded by the previous owner to have percussion as well as a 1/4" output option.
I can still get good sound and volume if using the 1/4" output.

I visually checked the external fuse in front of the Leslie amp as well as the 2 internal fuses I could see and they seemed fine.

I would very much appreciate anyone's help in figuring this out.

Since a 1/4” line out works, it is probably not an organ preamp problem.

Does the Leslie switch speeds successfully? Try using a different 6 pin cable. Clean your 12AU7 tube sockets and volume pot on the Leslie. Check the structural soundness of the amp connector.

These are all blind suggestions. Any further troubleshooting will require tools and skill in repairing tube amps.

These are relatively simple amps to work on, but the A-suffix amps have that molex connector to the motor control board which has very little slack. You need the motor control board connected when the amp is on, as it shares the cathode voltage. I'm getting ahead of myself.
