  • I got the Hammond M Organ

For those of you that chimed in on my first post, asking about getting a Hammond M, I GOT IT!!
I would not have gone for it without asking about it here, and considering the feedback.
I couldnt post back on my first thread; it was closed. Not sure what happened there.

So picked up the M1 a few days ago. It turns out its a good bit older than what the advertisement said.
It is in immaculate condition! Its been kept up, and repaired where needed. It runs silent, and the body looks really good, even though its almost 80 years old.
There are signatures inside the case by people who have worked on it over the years. Its from LA, and i'm the 4th owner.
Ill post the names of the signatures to see if anyone here recognizes any of them.

Ill post the serial number too, to see if anyone can enlighten me.
Thanks for push that got me to go get it! no buyers remorse on this one.

      Wait.
Did all of us just get named as an accessory to this action?

        "almost 80 years old", well...

It was only produced for a year or so (1949, maybe some in 1950), making it 70 or 71 years old. It's rude to ask a woman her age, but if you guess, don't overshoot.

I thought that sounded funny. The original add said it was a 1949. When I picked it up, the guy told me he thought it was a 1939 organ. As per the serial number he traced.
Id like to find out myself more about it. Maybe someone here can help with the serial number.

In the case of a model M there really isn't room for much hesitation over the age... see post #4 above.

There was no model M in 1939.
