Hi everyone. I seem to recall finding a specific area on the X77 so please excuse me posting generally here but i can't seem to get tot eh info I recall. I am after any advice around modifying the Leslie that comes with it. I spent most of my days playing an M100 and 122 (I think) and I would love to get the X77 rotary effect operating in a more traditional manner. Thanks for the help in advance! Please feel free to come and hear her in action at my FaceBook Group

As you're probably aware, the X-77 and X-77L work in a symbiotic relationship. So much so that it's usually said that one is no good without the other. I assume that you want to lose the single speed Rotosonic and the Celeste space generator, and replace them with a traditional speaker and two speed lower rotor. TBH I'm not sure if that's do-able.
Anyway, here's the very long X-77 thread: https://organforum.com/forums/forum/...-owners-corner
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Which part(s) are you looking to modify? Upper, lower, or both?
For the lower, some of the main issues are that the speaker and drum are not aligned together. Modifying this can be done, and I've done it, but it's a bit of custom woodworking. The drum also has to be modified or replaced since it's a rotosonic drum. Also, the motor is only single speed.
For the upper, there is the issue of channel switching.
Everything is possible, but heavy modification of the X77 and its Leslie is a long and winding road from which some have never come back...
