  • Hammond L100 back plate / cover

I have another thread about the organ I bought about 6 months ago. https://organforum.com/forums/forum/...00-restoration The restoration continues. The three chases have been overhauled. The tonewheel has been recapped. The wiring around the tonewheel was strengthened with new wiring (in a similar colour and texture etc) where a rodent had chewed through it. Modifications have been removed to return it to a stock format. I have started on the woodwork and have carefully stripped the remnants of varnish etc. I have chosen a stain and have done some woodwork. I'm attaching a before and after pic. The original backing cover is missing. Does anyone have a pic of their back with dimensions? There are various local woodwork and construction places that would be able to make a replacement. What sort of material is suggested for the back? How many air circulations holes are required etc? I'm really appreciative of the feedback I have received previously.

It appears you have an L-102, which was first of the series. They had a plain brown Masonite composition back with, if I remember correctly, had 3 rows of 3 horizontal oval cut-outs, about 2" X 12" without any cloth. The middle row may have been positioned so that you could grab the underside of the plywood shelf to move the organ. Machine screws fastened it across the top, middle and bottom. This was not like the later imitation grained walnut backs that clipped at the bottom and rattled.

I have the Masonite cover for my T202 stashed away somewhere, I can photograph and measure it.
Always planned to have a plexiglass duplicate made, to show off the TWG and other bits.
      Current:
1971 T-202 with Carsten Meyer mods: Remove key click filters, single-trigger percussion, UM 16' drawbar volume correction. Lower Manual bass foldback.
Korg CX3 (original 1980's analogue model).
1967 Leslie 122 with custom inbuilt preamp on back panel for 1/4" line-level inputs, bass & treble controls. Horn diffusers intact.
2009 Marshall 2061x HW Plexi head into Marshall 4x12 cabinet.

      Former:
      1964 C3
      196x M-102
      197x X5
      197x Leslie 825
