  • Hammond Organ Model 181

    Hello organ friends,

i just picked up an old portable Hammond organ, the model plate states model 181 50K.
it´s a spinet organ with a chome rail on the players side for carrying. i am wondering if anyone has any informtation about this instrument.
when i opened the top panel i could not see a tone wheel generator (unless it sits underneath the top keyboard so i assume it´s an electronic organ.
Since i would love to revive this garage find i would be incredibly happy if anyone has a service/repair manual for this instrument.
    Thanks for reading:)
    regards
    Ivel

It's better known as an X5. All electronic, made by Ace Tone in Japan in collaboration with Hammond under the name Nihon Hammond.

Not sure if all the parts are still available, but now that your know what to search for, you should be able to find plenty of threads and info. A google search might be better than using the forum's own search engine.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Thanks Andy! i´ve seen pictures of the same or a similar instrument under X5 on the net but i couldn´t find anything of that sort on the organ itself, so i wasn´t really sure if that´s what it is.
has anyone on here ever restored such a machine?
