  • Sad Commentary on that model :(

:-(So I offered an H100 type model for free with outboard Hammond rotary speaker. I feel sad that one wanted it. I thought those models were kind of cool. Not a B3 but still real Hammond sound with drawbars and some extra doodads.
Well... too bad. This weekend it's going on the scrap heap. Its only saving grace is that it goes to a "recycling center". I desperately need the space.
I never really thought those were that bad?

John, I would have taken it if it were several hundred miles closer. I like the way they sound, but that are just more of more.

I would have wanted it too, but the shipping would have been too much.

The Leslie is worth more than the organ at this point.
        Surely someone wants the Leslie?
        Current:
1971 T-202 with Carsten Meyer mods: Remove key click filters, single-trigger percussion, UM 16' drawbar volume correction. Lower Manual bass foldback.
Korg CX3 (original 1980's analogue model).
1967 Leslie 122 with custom inbuilt preamp on back panel for 1/4" line-level inputs, bass & treble controls. Horn diffusers intact.
2009 Marshall 2061x HW Plexi head into Marshall 4x12 cabinet.

        Former:
        1964 C3
        196x M-102
        197x X5
        197x Leslie 825

It's not an actual Leslie. It's just a rotary speaker in a cabinet. A Hammond product.

With H100 sales, 'external Hammond rotary speaker' sometimes refers to the Hammond D10 tone cabinet, rather than a leslie. Sellers don't always know the difference - or they do and hope that buyers don't!
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Same here. 3,000 miles was too much round trip for me.

But hey, where's all the "original" and "preservation" types? They crawl through this list harping on "they don't make them anymore". Wonder where THEY are?

'Tis sad.... but life goes on.

If it starts and runs, pull the blue motor real quick and put it on ebay. They sell. I could use another one, for sure.
Pull the Leslie motors. Those move. Don't know the kind of Leslie involved, but the rotors move along with the bits and bobs and belts attached.

Point being, for the price of some screwdriver time, you could pull out enough to make a few bucks. Nothing to retire on, but a nice night out, anyway. Because even at a recycling center, you never know if anyone will get it or it will simply go to the crusher. Right now, in our area, the E-cycle is off limits "due to Covid". So all those nice pieces a guy could use? Sitting out for almost a year. Destined to the crusher, no doubt.

Your post suggests that you might be interested in an H100, I'm way closer than NY 8) I have one that was discarded by a music store a couple weeks ago, its primary issue was the motor bearings were gummed up. A little solvent had it running in five minutes. A secondary issue is the audio drops out after a couple minutes of operation, but that shouldn't be hard to fix. Everything else seems to work 8)

When did Hammond make a rotary speaker, other than the squirrel cage DX et al?

I plan to pull the amp and the motor. Also a few tubes. Good point on the rotary unit.

The truth is I've been trying to re-home this unit for over 2 years. It has about 4 broken keys. Our work/storage space is donated in a shuttered school building, and this year they re-opened part of it to expand for Covid reasons. In the process we lost some storage space and I had to take a hard look at what should go so we could keep functioning. BTW, an old little Hammond chord organ is going as well.
We can only keep so much for so long. I'd be willing to drive up to 100 miles if someone wanted this stuff.
