  • LSI model ID

    Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right sub-section given that this isn't a classic tonewheel Hammond. Mods, feel free to move it if necessary.

Does anyone know the model of this particular LSI hammond? https://www.adverts.ie/other-keyboar...ffers/15744831

Price has gone down from €600 to zero as of today. Before that it had been listed for at least the last 3 years with no takers.

My understanding is that the LSIs are non-serviceable in terms of the electronics, is that correct?

It's one of the Composer series. The model 142xxx, to be specific. Last three digits depending on style, finish etc.

It's from 1982 so it's a later LSI model, so more reliable than the first generations. Spares for almost all organs of this era are hard, or impossible, to come by, one reason for the low or zero values. It actually makes quite a decent sound, but lacks drawbars on the lower manual, of course.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

      Thanks Andy for the ID.

I had arranged to go & look at this until the seller told me that it was "open to offers" rather than free, so I'm not going to bother now, given that it needs work & is full of parts that are difficult to find.
