• How do I connect a PR40 to an M-3?

I already own the M-3, and am about to pick up the PR40 this week.

I'm not sure if they are of any use, but I have a 6 pin Leslie cable, and a 26-1 connector kit in a drawer at home which is meant for my dad's Leslie 145, though the kit hasn't been connected to my M-3 yet.

Does a PR40 and a Leslie 145 connect in the same way so I that could use dad's Leslie instead of the PR40 or do I need a different kit for each one?

also the reverb unit is a little messed up...it needs some new springs...i could use some help with those

    thanks mike

You might well buy a whole new reverb tank. Old Hammond reverb tanks go for less than $10 on eBay, and you can even choose one from the same year as your organ!

can i just use the same springs from the tank for the necklace? or should i just replace the necklace unit with the tank? but i want to keep the necklace unit...

        thanks

Sorry, I forgot PR40s have necklace reverb. These too, appear on eBay frequently, though not as often as reverb tanks. Once again, they usually go in the region of $10 if you're lucky.

But the Hammond reverb tanks (or their later Accutronics siblings) work just as well with the PR-40 (see my signature line) and open up more possibilities. New ones with different decay times are under $30 from Accutronics. I may be mistaken, but I believe some of thefinal runs ofPR-40s were equipped withtanks rather than necklace units.

              thanks guys

              ill keep my eyes open

by the way i was just looking inside my L103 and found an empty drawbar slit next to the bass drawbars on my console....has anyone used that for another drawbar or effect. i have a feeling that i can do some cool stuff with that opening. are there some possibilities of a drawbar slide controlling an entirely different effect or something?

              ill post a new thread.....

hey bails...look at my thread...basic L103 modifications....someone put nice instructions on creating an adapter kit...check it out if that helps with your M3
