• wattage on resistors for 31H

    Hello guys,

One of my resistors went up in smoke today when i put in a tube without a guide in the wrong pin holes. It was on a 31H type 2 amp. The resistor I need to replace is the 75 ohm resistor that connects to pin #8 to ground on the 6L6 sockets. I need to know the wattage and where to get good resistors.

    Also,can a 7591or a 6n6c be used in a6L6 socket?

    thanks everyone,

    Please respond soon!!

The cathode bias resistor probably devlops around 15 volts bias. Each of the 4 tubes might be around 50 ma so the power would be around 200 ma total for four tubes at 15 volts. or 3 watts dissipation. For good design practice, use a 5 watt wirewound resistor.

Go to Digikey or Mouser to find a part... Radio Shack doesn't have the right value parts... I checked...

The basing on the 7591 is different. The load resistance os different... I would not substitute these expecting better performance.
