    hello, could somebody please tell me of a supplier of vintage components in the uk ? i m havin some bother with my leslie and i need some capacitors. They are .1mfd 600vdc. thanks. john</P>

    Try Mouser here in the USA. The shipping of these would be very inexpensive.</P>

      When you say 'vintage' I'm guessing you mean brand new components to fit in place of vintage ones!</P>


      Here in the UK, Maplin, or Farnell would be the first two names to come to mind. Try them, they'll be just as cheap, I expect.</P>

            Yuck !!! Almost all replacement components will be a different design. For instance, where the old .1 at 600 caps had the leads out each end, the new will have leads come out the side near the ends... To get old style parts, your best bet is to probably go to salvage yards and disassemble old TV's of that vintage to get parts... then test the parts... They just don't make the parts the same way anymore.

              fred its not all bad ,i ve found some sprague orange drop caps for the amp. they look very similar to the old ones.

                Most orange drops of new stock here have the leads radial at each end, rather than centered axially...
