• Hammond organ N100

I know this organ is considered low class but I love it. She has just been delivered form UK to Spain but has given up soundinig her C's Hopefully she is only travel sick. I have had the back and top off to see if there were anywire loose but all seems Ok.I am not an electronic engineer but can solder joints etc. Anyidea's as to what could be wrong. Laymans terms please. This is my first posting. Just for you to know I am an oldie fully retired born before computers. Thanks in anticipation. My email is [email protected]

Try the wiggle test: Turn on the organ, jamb down a C; and then start wiggling stuff inside the organ.

BTW: A matchbook works great in this capacity, wedged between the offending note and the adjacent key.

These Hammonds had a transistorised divider tone generator. If the wiggle test doesn't solve your problem, then it's likely that the oscillator that controls all the "C's" may have packed up. Even with the assistance of a tech it's a fairly cheap fix.

        Cheers,
