Considering Purchasing a Thrift Store Hammond Organ

Hello forum. Today I discovered a Hammond Organ in pefect playing condition and was considering buying it. The serial number was 600xxx and the model number I believe had an A in the beginning then a few number and ended with an M. I apologize for the hazy description but we wrote all the info on a piece of paper which I soon after lost. It contains features such as one note chord button, a couple of reverb buttons and drum tracks. Hopefully some of you may be able to point me in the right direction as to what model this organ is, when it was manufactured and if it's worth buying.

A model number is a BIG help. That said, it sounds like a model that is solid state and probably uses IC's. I think one of the 8000 series models has an M on the end. If its that vintage, I would make sure it all works and consider that it likely could use a good circuit board connector cleaning. </p>

Lastly, I wouldn't pay much for it.</p>

BTW... was it a console or spinet?</p>

The model number starting with AxxxM, and the One Note Chord button don't quite square up, but I'm thinking that this is one of the 'Romance' series organs from the late 70's. OK-ish as they go, but not Hmamonds in the true sense! They are prone to problems with internal connectors, problems that sometimes show up when the organ is moved from place to place. Value is pretty near zero, so don't pay much. If it's fully working, maybe $50-$100 depending on the model. If you can take a pic and post it we'll let you know a lot more.</p>

Remember the last 2 numeric digits refer to the cabinet style &amp; finish, eg 8112M - 8100 series, traditional walnut.</P>
