I dont know about 6GW8 but the other types are available from other vendors (like Captain Bob on ebay) if that helps.

I see your point. It will be interesting to learn whether anyone intends to make them in the future.

I take it that places like the Tube Depot and such are also selling NOS (new old stock) from the 1960s, rather than newly created 6GW8 tubes?

          yep, nobody makes new 6gw8.

i checked, and tube depot even says "NOS-6GW8" next to the order button. i hope some company starts making them soon, or "free hammond spinnet organ" won't seem too attractive anymore...

heck, people might try looking for old hammond organs just for the tubes...

Actually the guy I got mine from has made a hobby of "saving" old organs, esp Hammonds, and giving them new homes, and says he is seeing that already -- people get an organ for "parts" which includes making use of the tubes. Right now, it's because some organs are essentially "free for the taking" but eventually it might be worth it just because of the value of the life left in the tubes.

you see the same thing with motorcycles from the '60s

some guy just needs one part on it, so he buys the whole thing.

usually the part he needs is a part that everybody needs but nobody has

he strips the bike of all remaining valuable parts

and sells the remaining parts for top dollar.
