5963 = 12AU7 = ECC82 -- Slyvania- RCA etc etc -- Which is best for an M3
I see they go for roughly $10 each to up to $200 each andwith lots of $50 and $100 tubes in between. Then there's the Russian ones etc etc for about $10 each.

Which ones and for about how much should I try get get for the best sound qualities and value for my Hammond M3.

Are each of the other six or seven tubes in the receiver amps the same way with there qualities and prices and sounds and effects and importance too.

I'm just now discovering the big world of tubes and there values and effects.

You won't HEAR any difference. The difference is called reliability. Russian tubes are here much better then the Chinese ones - they will last longer. I've successfully used a huge variety of tubes - like RFT, TESLA, Polish TELAM and even military CCCP tubes (like 6N2P - 12AX7 with different filament connection and 20000 hours lifespan). Also 6SH5P can be used as an replacement for 6AU6 (quite uncommon in Europe but used in almost every Hammond organ), giving a ltitle more fatter sound. Paying 200$ for one NOS tube is called STUPIDITY. "Rare" tubes won't make your sound better. The power is in your hands and imagination.

Never buy Chinese tubes - useless piece of crap. JJ and SOVTEK are cheap and ok!

When you're just needin a clean sound, then any reliable tube will do. If you want overdrive, that's where the subjectivity comes into question. Everyone likes their ovedrive a little different. Yes, $200 for NOS tube is indeed proposterous (Even tubes for 80-year old radios can be had for less than this), but you can find NOS tubes pretty affordably. Try different name brand, and see what you like. I have never tried new manufacture tubes, so I'm not sure how they sound, but I swear by General Electric myself.
