• Replacing felts on a Console + My new photo gallery

    Greetings

My goodies arrived from Goff Prof today for my RT3. I needed new upstop and downstop felts on both manuals, the replacement of a waterfall key I broke while showing my wife howeasy it is to palm smearand while the fall board was off I put on the new Hammond logo from Pierce Pianos Atlas (Thanks to Bluetantra for pointing me in the right direction!).

The reason I have done a post about this is because I took some pictures of the stages of changing the felts and lifting the manuals and it was quite easy. So if yours need doing have a look at the pics and see if you fancy doing it!

The difference is amazing now the felts are done. My wife thought keyclick was the sound of the keys returning to their natural position!

BTW it took longer to replace the A natural waterfall key than change the felts as I had to remove two of the preset busbars to get my screwdriver socket in.

The photos are taken on my wifes digital camera and are quite hi res quality which means they take a while to upload. I will post again tomorrow when they are complete. I will put them in my new gallery tomorrow.

    Cheers
