What is a reasonable price to pay for a Leslie 145 assuming its in working condition with only minor cosmetic issues. I have a chance to pick one up for $500 but I don't know if that is a good price or not.

Also, if anyone has advice on what to look for or test when I go to look at it. The seller has an A-100 so I should be able to turn it on and hear it. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: testing - play it throught, check for unusual distortion on really high notes (to see if the driver is intact and working)...see if you like how it sounds.

Does it come with all back panels? Wouldn't hurt to have a look around the internet for some pictures of these things, then see if anything has been modified inside.

If it has been well taken care of but hasn't had servicing for a while, you'd be lucky if you only had to pay $60 for a new set of 6550 output tubes.

My 145 came from a church where it was hooked up to a C2. It had a special adapter in the leslie which made it compatible and trick the organ into "seeing" a 122 amp. Speed switching on that A100 should be the same. Be sure that the 145 hasn't been modified internally! The schematic is relatively easy to read - go over it with a tech if you need help.

I have an A-100 that I will be running through the leslie. Since the guy that owns the leslie also has an A-100 it should be good to go (right?). Thanks for the tips on testing I will look around for the schematics.
