• New M-3 owner needs help on tubes

I just got an M-3 and discovered that one of the electron tubes was missing. I do not have a schematic and have no idea what tube number it is or how to even find tubes at this digital age we live in. Can someone offer me an assist???

Hi, here you go. they are all right, i am pretty sure the rectifier is a 5u4, it is a little hard to read on my chassis:

Each tube has a specific function within the organ, so I would get it up and running to see what is and what is not working, before replacing all the tubes (naturally replace all the missing tube first!). Which tube is missing? the pair of 6V6's are the output tubes and should be replaced as a pair.

When you get the organ running, and everything works leave it be. If you have $100 to burn, buy a whole new tube set. Search ebay, there are a few sellers that have a complete tube set. I personally buy from thetubestore.com - that way you can customize your order for specific brand/priced tubes.

Be aware that its common to see hammonds from the 50's running on all original tubes. First thing I would do is remove the tubes one by one, spray the pins/sockets with electronic contact cleaner and insert and remove the tubes a few times to get the grime and oxidation off the contacts. This usually brings a dead organ back to life.
