• amp is dead, will preamp output still work?

    hi

i had a question regarding operating a hammond organ without its amp. I recently saw an organist palying his c3 with what looked like an amp that was not in use, it did not have any of its tubes and it appeared to be running through a 1/4 inch cable into a guitar head.

i have an m3 that has an amp which is in need of repair, (output volume is virtually0)my goal was toattain a preamp output and use another source for amplification. Will the preamp output work regardless of the amp itself working? how can i achieve this tubeless bypassed amp?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

If it was a C3, they only have an AO28preamp. If it was a console with built in speakers then it would have amain amp. Alternatively he could have been playing an RT3 which looks the same as a C3 from the end but is a bit longer with a seperate valve amp for extra pedal stops

      An A-105 is an A-series in a C-3 cabinet.

The RT3 is nothing to do with the R100 series. The RT3 has the same preamp as the B3,C3

            I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM!

I'm going to post as a new post also to see if I can get any more help, but yes I have a similar problem!

Ok, I have an M3, which my original intention was to buy a BOSS rotary effects pedal,....install a 1/4" line out, and have a cheap but somewhat same sound as the traditional that we all love and share.

Here's my videos on it. http://hammondm3.blogspot.com/

The bottom video on that page (the one posted at 10:16am), shows what I did to install a line out,...that I found on a website,

            http://www.wikihow.com/Install-a-Line-out-Jack-on-a-Hammond-M3-Electric-Organ

HOWEVER, is the signal that I used coming from the AMP!?!?!?!?! This is what was directed to do on the site, and they called it the preamp. So, Am I throwing serious wattage at my peavey, or hardly any wattage to my peavy?!?!?!

            PLEASE HELP!
