• Pink Floyd's 'Mother'

    Hi

Does anyone know what Hammond drawbar settings would recreate the lovely 'flute' sound on the intro to Pink Floyd's 'Mother' from the Wall album

    Much Appreciated

The soft flute sound - not sure if that's the Hammond or not, but a soft flute would be 00 8400 000. A little C1 or C2 Vib would warm it a little more.

Just Youtubed the live versionand the Hammond's playing that flute part on something 66 8800 000, slow leslie and Vib at C2 or C3.

It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Anyone who likes the original Wall studio album should listen to "Is there Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 80-81" Not only does it include the tracks that couldn't fit on the original vinyl pressing such as the fantastic "What shall we do now" (888888888 Fast C3 vib Andy?) but the Hammond is a lot more prominant and there are a couple of rare Hammond solos from Rick on "Another Brick in the Wall Part II and Young Lust" Nearly all of the video for this is on youtube and someone has sync'd up the restored audio from the above named album

      Cheers
