  • A-105 & Leslie 225

    I have this guy interested in a trade for one of my guitars. The guitar is a PRS McCarty and I'm very fond of it. It may never happen (around 1K miles each way in crappy weather)but I want your impression of this Organ and Leslie. I can't see much around on the net about the 225 and though he has a link to a picture I can't find it on his website.......so. Anyway, how does this look. Not a $100 M3 by any means like my last miss but.... There is also a $300 M3 local with missing bass pedals. Did they ever come with missing bass pedals or is this just a parts hunt? He's 60 miles round trip. No pictures to show. Maybe be patient huh? </P>

    &lt;OK, The Captain says the 225 is a turd. I don't think I'll drive 2K miles and give up my PRS for that. I've see pretty good A-100s local for $1K. Patience Jackrabbit&gt;</P>

    The organ's good. His ad reads make an offer, so offer him $1,000. (1000-1500 is good) and let him pay you the difference and tell him he can keep the Leslie 225 but take it if you must as it's better than nothing. Just don't assign much value to it (like about $100.) The amp is worth $75., until you can get a better one. A horn can be added. It'll work until you can spring big bucks for a 122.
    </p>

    I have an extra set of bass pedals for the M3 that I will sell cheap. Don't pay over $100. for that M3. You ought to be able to get it for even less than that without the pedals. They never came without the pedals. Make sure the wiring to them is still there. It's a small group of black wires on the right side when looking in from the back.
    </p>
    Hammonds: A; AB; B3; D; E; 6-M3's; 2-A100; T582C.
    Leslies: 3-31H; 21H, 22H, 4-44W; 46W; 25; 47; 45; 125; 50C; 51; 55C; 2-120; 122; 122A; 145; 147; 245; 770; 825; 2-102; 2-103; 300.
    Wicks 2/5 pipe organ; Yamaha upright; Kurzweil Micro Piano & Micro B with M-Audio Oxygen 61; Yamaha DGX520; Wurlitzer 4100 (it came with a Leslie!). Peavey KB100 keyboard amp. Peavey Bass Guitar. Yes, I have A. D. (acquisition disorder) and don't want it cured.

      [/quote]You're a gem sir. On the A-105, part of it is the 2K mile round trip to go get it too. I've seen several $1K A-100s around here in the last 3 months. The M3 is a different animal entirely. I just think that for me, first organ, getting obsessed like the rest of you, start small, I can always end up with too many like the rest of you. That's really pocket change. It's nice to know parts are around. I do want pedals and I've already let the guy know that I just missed a $100 M3 by hours. He's got the picture I think. I'll throw in the missing pedals part just to make him feel bad. </P>

      Like I said, or was it Yoda? Take 'er easy bub. There's always a good deal around the corner. </P>
