  • Bolting down Hammond generator

There have been so many questions from new Hammond owners on how to do this, I decided to post some images:</p>

The first picture is the generator bolted down. Notice the washers are next to the wood shelf. All you have to do is unscrew the bolt, turn the washer around and reinstall screw. It doesn't need to be real tight, just snug. On my band M3 I keep mine bolted down all the time since it moves frequently but have put rubber washers under the generator to keep it somewhat quiet. See pic 2.

On pic 3 the front bolt is in the unbolted position which is where most people have theirs for maximum quietness of the generator. Notice the washer is now away from the wood shelf. The back is still bolted for comparison. There are a total of 4 bolts.

    Hope this helps!

    Re: Bolting down Hammond generator

Very thoughtful post, Admiral. May I add another important consideration in organ moving is the reverb. I don't know how many times I've had to stop the movers so I could get in the back and lock down the reverb. On some it is done with wing nuts and on some there is a bar clasp. Organ movers should always check for one before transporting an instrument.
