hello its me again, can anyone tell me anything about the hammond x77 and matching leslie.Is it a tone wheel model with transistors like the t500 or is it fully transistorized,have they got a good tone to them and are they worth having? Ive got a chance to buy one, you comments would be most welcome. thanks , john

Well worth doing a search for earlier threads, John. You'll find that the X77 has been discussed a lot.</p>
It is tonewheel, like the H on which it is based. Unlike the H, it is all solid state. No vibrato at all, instead it has its dedicated X77L cabinet. The tone is unique amongst Hammonds, you either like it or you don't. B3 purists generally don't like it but I think it holds its own very well. Reliability can sometimes be a problem, I don't think it was one of Hammond's best in this respect, but once sorted, there's no reason why it shouldn't stay that way.</p>
I'm sure some of our X77 owners will chip in soon.</p>
